    Potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution is a strong alkali widely used in chemical synthesis. Van Slyke apparatus and Hildebrand adsorption technique have been utilized to determine the solubility of oxygen in different concentration of KOH solution.

Application:
Potassium hydroxide solution may be used in the following processes:
● Depolymerization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) flakes.
● Synthesis of potassium bicarbonate and potassium carbonate.
● As an eluent in the nonsuppressor ion chromatography to separate and determine inorganic and organic anions.
● Saponification of fruit seed oil to determine tocopherols and tocotrienols.
