Yeast Nitrogen Base is a highly-referenced growth medium used for the cultivation of yeast. This nutrient-rich microbial broth contains nitrogen, vitamins, trace elements and salts, used in many molecular genetics applications. Prepared according to the formulas of Wickerham. Addition of amino acids and carbon source (usually glucose) may be required.

p-Aminobenzoic Acid 200μg/L

Riboflavin 200μg/L
Thiamine hydrochloride 400μg/L
Trace Elements:
Boric acid 500.0μg/L
Copper sulfate 40.0μg/L
Potassium iodide 100.0μg/L
Ferric chloride 200.0μg/L
Manganese sulfate 400.0μg/L
Sodium molybdate 200.0μg/L
Zinc sulfate 400.0μg/L
Minerals:
Monopotassium phosphate 1.0g/L
Magnesium sulfate 0.5g/L
Sodium chloride 0.1g/L
Calcium chloride 0.1g/L

Suspend 6.9 grams of powdered medium in 1 litre of distilled water.

Store at Room Temperature. Keep cool and dry.
For long-term storage, store at 4°C.
