TBS is isotonic and non-toxic to cells and is suitable for molecular biology. TBS Buffer 10X is commonly used as a substance diluent or as a wash buffer in immunoassays such as ELISA. It is used in immunohistochemical staining when the background is high and for diluting alkaline phosphatase or peroxidase-conjugated antibodies in Western blotting. 

TBS Buffer 10X is a pH stabilizing solution used for western blot and ELISA procedures. It is an optimal formulation of salts and pH stabilizers which enable washing without disruption of antibody-antigen binding interactions.

TBS Buffer 10X contains 1.51M Sodium Chloride and 0.20M Tris/Tris-HCl.

10X TBS stock solution (1 Liter) contains:
87.7 g of NaCl
24.2 g of Tris base
Adjust pH to 7.5 by HCl.
