Wilkins-Chalgren Anaerobe Broth
Components ( In 33g broth/1L H2O)：
Tryptone: 10g
Peptic digest of animal tissue: 10g
Yeast extract: 5g
Dextrose: 1g
Sodium Chloride: 5g
L-Arginine: 1g
Sodium pyruvate: 1g
Haemin: 0.005g
Menadione: 0.0005g
Directions
Suspend 33.01 grams in 1000 ml distilled water. Heat if necessary to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. Cool to 45-50°C before adding antibiotics to be tested. Mix gently and dispense into sterile tubes. For cultivation of anaerobes, aseptically add the rehydrated contents of 2 vials each of Anaero Supplement as required into sterile medium before dispensing into sterile tubes.
Applications
Used for cultivation and susceptibility testing of anaerobic bacteria.
